The George N. Fitusis Memorial Scholarship offers a one-time $500 scholarship to high school seniors entering college. We select applicants who best demonstrate love of God and the Orthodox Christian faith through service, scholarship, leadership, and practical citizenship in their church, school, and community.

Eligibility and Requirements

  • Must be of Greek Orthodox faith and an active member in good standing at SS. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Merrillville, IN

  • Must be enrolled as a full-time student in the final year of an accredited high school

  • Must have a minimum 2.25 GPA based on a standard 4.0 system

  • Must demonstrate active participation in church programs (GOYA, Sunday School, Greek School, Altar Service, or other church-affiliated activities)

  • Must be accepted to an accredited college or university for the upcoming fall semester

Application Requirements

  • Completed online application form

  • Official 7-semester high school transcript

  • Letter of good standing from SS. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral

  • Letter of acceptance from your college or university

  • Recent photograph (JPG or PNG format)

  • Personal essay (250 words): How has your Greek Orthodox faith shaped who you are and your goals for the future?

Important Dates

  • Application opens in January

  • Application deadline is April 30th

  • Award ceremony is in June
